When I bought this, it didn't charge. Dyson did send a battery which was under warranty. They were pleasant to deal with. I had a V8 Animal which has more suction, but I think the V8 will do well for my current need- hard floor and minimal carpet.

We bought this cleaner two/three weeks ago and we are very pleased with it. It is light in weight but that doesn’t effect the excellent suction/power it has. The accessories are easy to attach and detach. Overall an excellent product,

Small dust container

- A: Hi there, I’ve used Dysons on all types of surfaces, including hardwood floors and I’ve never had any issues. Mind you that there are many types of hardwood flooring, so you should always double check with the manufacturer or the installer.3 years agoHelpful?

Q: When and how do I clean and wash the filter? I did not get a card to register the vacuum..It only included a Spanish version. I bought it at Canadian Tire on May 9th and it only came with ‘Important Safety instruction’.

- A: Personally, my experience with my purchase of Dyson V8 at the Vernon Canadian Tire was not very good. I was missing the thin vacuum attachment which would easily allow vacuuming between the car seats or small areas in the house. I was told that Dyson did not include it any more. Well, I sense found out that maybe at CT they don’t but else where they do. So, I am done with CT. To empty the filter pull the grey latch on top of the motor handle at the filter will open allowing the dirt drop into a garbage bag. Make sure the filter is held over the garbage container. Good lucka year agoHelpful?

- A: I wondered the same and was disapointed, thinking at first, (because of the instructions,) that it should have been included. But it depends on which model you have bought. I think our model is slightly cheaper than the one that includes it. I find I don't often miss it, as the other brush some to fit pretty well into most spaces.3 years agoHelpful?
