Purchased the Honeywell Ultra Plus Cool Mist Humidifier today. What a piece of junk. Won't turn on, after taking the tank off and putting back on, it finally worked, for about an hour then shut off. Will not come back on, ridiculous! Don't buy this, it's absolutel garbage.

This humidifier is rated for large rooms of 500 sq. ft. It could not get my humidity to any higher than 28%. It spewed an immense amount of white powder. I would not recommend it.

I bought this product 2 months ago. It is good at misting, but white dust appears on everything around it. I do not recommend this filter free humidifier. Will be buying another with a filter.

Q: I am currently experiencing white dust. I use city water with a demineralization cartridge but I still have the white dust. Any suggestions?

A: Use distilled water and you won't get white dust. I am too old to carry the jugs of distilled water, so I bought my own distiller. (Megahome) If you buy the distilled water, Super Store or Walmart have the best prices.

Q: Can you use city tap water? Is only well water hard water or is there other hard water? Is city tap water soft or hard?

If you have hard water (which can be well or municipal), we would suggest using a demineralization cartridge, PDC51, or mixing in distilled water to reduce the concentration of the minerals in the water.
