Good at moving air. No unexpected flaws. The noise may be louder than anticipated.

If this fan could be said to have a flaw, it would be "avoid using it on your mattress near your pillow at slow speeds if you sleep on your side" because, like all fans with "normal" motors (PSC induction motor), it has a 120 Hz vibration/hum that will transfer into the mattress, up through your pillow, and into whichever ear is laying on your pillow. The hidden praise behind this is, of course, that the two lower speeds are properly slow, especially speed 1. You may wish to buy the BLDC motor version, which also happens to be slightly larger (as offered by Canadian Tire anyway); it almost certainly won't have the hum, but it will be just as loud at full throttle. Fortunately, I mostly use this during hot weather, at maximum speed. I have it pointing out a window, right up against the window screen, and the dust pattern on my window screen is split into six concentrated parts, indicating that the airflow isn't quite even due to the six yellow plastic motor supports. Not sure if this was intentional or a compromise or what. That said, no matter what, it's still vastly superior to the old-school non-ducted fans.

Awesome Fan, but my wife doesn't like the color

A pretty amazing little fan, considering the size. its not very loud, so use over night shouldnt distrub you. Its actually an air mover which does differ from a fan. On full power, you can still feel a decent breeze at about 25 ft away. The price does reflect this performance, and it does seem to have a more robust motor than the larger thinner shop fans, and its in the path of suction, so i'd imagine that this motor is also cooler than the other ones (which should help with longevity.

HEAVY DUTY and a good size

a year ago
i use this thing on stage when i play drums. it's a reasonable size, heavy duty construction, and powerful enough to keep me cool while being quiet enough that the sound doesn't come through the microphones on stage. 5 stars. highly recommend.
