For the size of covered storage you get, and the price you pay, it's not bad. You couldn't even build the floor of an actual shed for the price you pay for this thing. Especially if you catch it on sale. I put it up in August of 2024. Two years deep, some heavy winds (it is fenced in on 2 sides) and decent snowfall (I'm in north eastern Alberta) it has held up well. No rips/tears or leaks. last summer I tightened a couple of the straps, to keep the tarp tighter and will likely do so again this year. Took me most of a day putting together by myself. lots of up and down on the ladder and some strategic moves to make it work solo. I didn't install the door lift system. I just couldn't bring myself to cut holes in the brand new tarp. I just roll it up and have tarp strap on either side inside hanging from the bars. Works well enough. I'm not in and out of it every day. It gets hotter than you-know-what in the summer time though, maybe if a guy set up some ventilation you could work in there during the summer. Maybe on cooler rainy days, but if the sun is out, it is WARM in there. Everything I read says the tarp will die in 2-3 years, so I'll come back next year and update. So far, so good. As far as dry storage goes, for the price and size, you can't beat it. Yeah sure a garage or pole shed would be more durable, but it would be 3x to 10x the price, if not more. It would cost you triple what this is worth just to buy a garage door. Let alone a whole garage.

Poor UV Resistance & Rips Easily

Cdn Tire should either stock or order replacement covers of equal or of higher quality!! Be prepared for this cover to rip out max 2 - -3 yrs Heavy cover costs more than compete shelter!! It is NOT UV resistant!! Another issue was sweating during hot days, soaking everything! Installed vents at each end illuminating that problem. Be prepared to bite the bullet for a higher UV resistant-heavier tarp. Not a problem with frame. Good idea very poor tarp quality!!!

Q: What is the door opening height and width?

A: Height - Open fully is about 8' 2". The rolled up door is a bit of a nuisance to get that height, but can be done. The door is a trapezoid, being 10' 6" wide at the bottom, and about 6' 5" at the very top. The effective width for use depends on how high up the width is required

A: Unfortunately living up north takes its toll. It's extremely important to keep the snow load off it. The frame cannot handle ice storms and heavier snow. They offer a higher grade of shelters that can handle heavy loads but expensive.

Q: what is the width of the garage at 5 to 6 feet off the ground? there are no measurements for that height and Shelterlogic doesnt know??

A: If you lift this shelter 5 to 6 feet up, you will need a base of approx 12 inches to secure the bottom of the frame to. As it is a curved rail to sit on the ground. If you don't add the bottom piece, you will just have the pole end. Either way, the width at the bottom will still be 10' - 10.3'.
