    Unreliable

I bought this gauge about 1 year ago and it has not been reliable. The reading often ranges from 5 PSI to 30 PSI on the same tire. Quite frustrating. I'm giving up on this one and will be purchasing a new gauge (likely elsewhere).

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: i see a power switch. Do you have to manually turn on and off every time you use?

A: You have to turn it on, yes, but it will turn itself off after a short period. Overall the unit works great.

Q: Have owned mine for several years and it has worked great. Now it is using up batteries in a very short period of time. Anybody else experiencing this?

    1 Answer

A: I haven't used mine very much so I haven't noted the same issue. It appears that you have what is referred to as a "ghost" draw; using power while shut off. Easiest solution is to remove the batteries when not in use. This is good practice even without a ghost draw. It prevents possible battery corrosion in the terminals and depleting the batteries due to temperature fluctuations.

    1 Answer
