Nice all purpose Floor jack

Nice jack with a 4”- 18 1/4” range. While it has a 4” lower position, it is noteworthy that the jack is taller halfway back so it may not very far under a low car. The two piece handle is larger than it looks. It can be used while standing. It lifts quick and easy

is heavier than anticipated for an aluminum jack but seems to work good. Is not very good for very low cars or tall trucks, but will get the job done overall. I feels very well built.

A: It looks like this jack is made by a company called Sunex. Their service web site (not their sales web site) lists several repair centres in Canada. Just google Sunex floor jack repair kit.

A: I leave mine open all the time, I think it's better for the jack. had no issue with it, and I've had my 2 ton mastercraft jack for 15 years, using it 10 times a year at least.

Q: How many strokes to full height

A: It all depends on your access to the handle. Are you lifting a vehicle where the handle has restricted movement(handle is partially under the vehicle) or just lifting from jacking points where the handle has full range of motion. Therefore no numbers.

Q: can this be used at the pinch weld location of the body without adaptor

A: I would not. I made my own adapters with old hockey pucks. Cut sides to fit your vehicle, and cut a slot in the middle wide enough so pinch weld fits, and deep enough so that pressure from puck is on either side of pinch weld, not on the weld itself. If one puck doesn't cut it, stack two together and hold them together with some screws. I even notched the bottom of mine to fit the old style CT cheapo jack that I had. But with these new jacks with flat platform that contacts the body of the vehicle, no need to do that. My scissor jack that came with car is designed the same way (metal goes on either side of pinch weld), and probably designed as such to secure the jack to the vehicle and ensure it does not slip off frame.

Q: What is the difference in quality and durability between this jack and your other 3 ton jack (Product #009-1047-6)? Can I expect this jack to breakdown sooner?

A: The 3 ton is not low profile, so less versatility. it's min height is 5" vs this one at 4", which is important if you have a sports car and need to use a pinch weld adapter.

Q: Does this jack leak hydraulic fluid? I have two 1.5 ton Michelin branded aluminium jacks that look similar in design to this. Those two started to leak like crazy after a few uses. Can anyone who's used this specific jack for a number of years comment on leakage?
