Broke First Swing

Bought this wedge to help around the yard felling trees, on the first tree I went to go cut, it broke in half. Could’ve been a faulty wedge but I’m not sure.

Great wedge for feeling trees and chainsaw milling

a year ago

The wedge works very well for both felling trees and chainsaw milling. Plastic is great in case it gets hit by the chainsaw chain; does not damage the chain. Bright colour is nice for relocating in the woods; or in piles of saw dust while milling.

Great wedge, used it to take down a big tree with a 24 inch base. The nice thing about plastic is if you accidentally hit it with your saw the wedge will lose and not destroy your chain like a metal wedge will. If you're cutting right this wedge give you plenty of leverage.

Q: What is a felling wedge?

A: Felling wedge made of tough polystyren. Wedges help the tree fall in the direction of the notch cut by actually lifting the tree in that direction. Used to prevent the tree from pinching the saw, or leaning back on the saw, while making a back cut. Often allowing a safer, cleaner felling experience.
