Doesn't Clump very Well

This kitty litter doesn't clump very well. it starts to disintegrate as soon as you scoop it. My cat gets asthma attacks triggered by this litter therefore I will not be purchasing this again. On the plus side, it doesn't track dust. There are some fine pellets that gets tracked but they are easy to clean. I also like that it's biodegradable.

Does the job well, does not attract mice

This is a very good clumping cat litter that is, in theory, flushable and does not smell. I was using another brand that was corn-based, which smelled great and my cat loved it, but it attracted mice. Okocat uses trees, which is not so good in one way but at least does not present itself as a big buffet for any critters that may be living in your house. It is as promised lightweight and easy to scoop, and staves off the dreaded litter box smell for a surprisingly long time. My small cat does not produce big pee balls but even so they are too big to flush without blocking the toilet so I end up throwing her urine out, flushing her poo, and - when it's time to do a full litter change (every 4-5 weeks) composting the rest. One note is that I tried the pellet litter by the same brand and hated it - I really do NOT recommend it. But this featherweight version, yes. One star off for how expensive it is.

Q: Do you find this litter is dusty or is tracked throughout the house like clay litter?

A: This litter is less dusty than clay litter. But it is dusty. I keep a Dyson in the same area as the litter box and vacuum near the box a couple times a day. Despite this issue, this litter is far superior to clay in terms of smell control and not getting stuck in between the cat's toes.

Q: When you switched from one cat litter to the okocat did you split the litter half & half or did you just switch completely all at once. I have a 14 year old cat and he has used the same litter for a very long time.

A: I switched it all at once and it was no problem. My cat accepted it immediately. I recommend buying two bags and using one in its entirety to fill the litter tray and having the second one on hand for top-ups.
