Thread repair

Had a stripped thread in bike engine . (head bolt) this kit repaired it perfectly and was my first time doing this kind of repair. Watched some experts on Utube for instruction. Would buy again and recommend.

Fix a damaged thread right any time

These are great for fixing damaged threads. I have used them before with success. Once you own the install tool and tap just get inserts to fix future issues

Q: What size drill is required , as itshould be stated on the package . I'm certain there is no such drill bit as 8.3 mm

A: You do not need a drill to use the Thread Repair Kit, M8-1.25 (0251213). Everything needed is included in the package.

Q: Inner diameter? Outer diameter? Is M8 the inner diameter (that I'd screw a bolt into# or the outer diameter #that I'd tap)? If it's inner, what's the outer diameter? Thanks.

A: M8-1.25 is the original thread size that you would be repairing. The Bolt would be 8-1.25. The repair would require that you drill out to the size specified in the kit. The required drill size is stated on each kit (we believe for this kit, it is 8.3mm). Outer diameter is unimportant as the coils are compressed when they are installed (to our product manager’s knowledge there is no spec for compressed diameter).
