A: It does not cover both receptacles. You have to plug it in the bottom receptacle leaving the top one usable.

Q: How much programming can it take ? I have an application in which I want a heater to run for few minutes (say 5) and then turn off for 5 minutes. I want this 10 minute on-off cycle to be repeated all day. can it be programmed that way ? Thanks

A: The smallest block of time it is capable of is 30 min so no you cannot set it for 5 or 10 min.

A: You simply pull up on all the buttons for which you want the power OFF. Power will be ON for all the buttons that are pushed down.

Q: Is the timer CFL compatible?

A: Yes it is because it switches the power off and on mechanically. CFL's don't like to be switched using semiconductors such as transistors. In general, if you can hear a click when the timer cycles on or off, then it is safe for CFL's.

A: There are no pins. It uses non-removable permanent buttons which you press down for the ON cycles and pull up for the OFF cycles.

A: The most important thing to check for any of the timer, it's the wattage that your device consumed versus the number of watts the timer can support.

Q: Can this timer be used for high draw/heavy duty devices such as window air conditioners.

A: This timer should not be used for the window air conditioner. This timer cannot used for high draw/heavy duty devices. The timer has a limit of 1/2HP and most window air conditioners are 1HP. There are three different loads for this timer as following: 1.Resistive 125V, 15A, 1875W , i.e. oven, heater, stove, etc. 2.Tungsten 125V, 10A, 1250W , i.e. lamp 3.1/2HP.i.e. air conditioner
