I purchased the NOCO GENIUS2 to maintain the AGM battery in my Mercedes-Benz during storage, and it exceeded expectations. Setup was simple and intuitive, with clear indicators and an easy AGM mode selection.
Despite the battery being in a very low state of charge, the unit began recovery immediately and showed progress faster than anticipated. The charger operates automatically and transitions to maintenance mode without intervention, which is ideal for modern vehicles with sensitive electronics.
Overall, this is a well-built, reliable, and user-friendly maintainer that does exactly what it claims. Highly recommended for AGM-equipped vehicles.

Q: At 2 amps does that mean if the battery is down by 200 amps it would take 4+ days to charge it.

A: I just used the 200 amp number to make the point that this is not the product to charge an automotive battery that is almost completely dead in less than a few days. There are other chargers that are more suitable for quickly charging a battery that’s severely depleted. This product is what you use on a battery that’s severely depleted is near fully charged and the vehicle it’s in won’t be used at all or very seldomly for the next 2-12 months. This is the perfect product to use to keep the battery at peak efficiency and ready to go plus it helps to keep the battery from becoming weak from sulphication of the “ cells “ inside 5he battery.

Q: It says good for keeping battery topped off and for winter. But it is only rated for -20 celcius. Would it still work in -30? In -30 I need to boost car if it sits more than a day, but in -20 Battery is fine. Or should I consider a new battery

A: It's not for a quick jump start, but if you have some time, it will likely bring the battery back to sufficient power to start your Mazda. It may take a day or two. I use mine to do that with the battery on my motorcycle and to maintain it over winter. 2 years so far and all is well !!

A: I don't see why not. I've been using mine on a number of AGM and gel batteries almost continuously for two years, including a small lawnmower battery, a fibre-optic system back-up battery, and a couple of car batteries.

A: No, this is a trickle charger only. It is a small device the size of a small fist. It is a low power device. Boost and Fast Charge would require a much more powerful device.

A: Most of the chargers are good for this purpose. I use Genius 2, it is keeping my batteries charged. Working very well for the past 6 months. I happy, it is easy to use. Buy one with spring clips, which does not require bolting or screwing.

A: You do not need to register with NOCO to qualify for the 3 year warranty when purchased at Canadian Tire. Just keep your receipt.
