Poor power connection design.

I purchased this dash cam on sale in 2020. I was concerned about how the power cable & connection creates a curve, creating unnecessary strain. I hoped it wouldn't become an issue. I like the compact size & daytime resolution. However earlier last year I started to have problems keeping it powered up. Now I have given up as the power cable is virtually impossible to keep in a position to provide power. The design of the connection is beyond understanding. I do not recommend buying this model at any price.

Power Cable Broke after <1 year of use

I bought this about a year ago and the way the wire sits, it wears itself out. The charging cable is now broken and I am no longer able to use the camera. If the wire was designed better, this would be a non-issue. Storage is also too small.

Temperature dropped and it is no longer sticking to the screen

Functionality is ok, but one have to purchase a separate bigger SD card (at least 128Gb) the one that comes with the cam is useless it is full in just 2 days and auto loop feature does not work. One star because temperature dropped and it is no longer sticking to the screen. Researched and applied all the possible hacks for it to hold on to the screen but did not work.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: Hi Rocco, So the issue you're experiencing with your dash cam is that the g-sensor is set to high. So for every bump or drastic breaking, your dash cam thought you got into an accident locking onto your files, thus causing your SD card to be full. All you need to do is lower the g-sensor sensitivity, so it doesn't lock onto files constantly. Please reach out to service@mygekogear.com if you have any additional questions. - myGEKOgear Team

Q: What is the function of the internal battery. The unit doesn't work unless it is plugged in.

A: It doesn't work when it's not plugged in, and once you turn your vehicle off it turns off as well. When I bought it I had hoped for a camera that was always recording when motion was detected, will definitely be upgrading to something better.

Q: I have to keep formatting the card because it fills up. I thought "loop recording" meant that it would automatically overwrite the oldest files, but apparently not. If that is not the function of "loop recording," what is it?!? NOT A RECOMMENDED BUY!

A: Mine does the exact same thing and I thought as you, why is the SD card filling if I have set a 5 minute loop? I tried resetting the defaults... that didn’t change anything. I guess Customer Service is the next route to take... Sorry.

Q: Yes it takes an 8 gig sd card but the spec also indicates “ Hard Drive Size (Terabyte): 8 TB“ perhaps it’s an error????

A: That's 8 gb and it will support a 32 gb sd card. It's still a good reliable little dash cam for the price. I use it for a second dash cam in case my main camera quits working. Is that the definition of paranoia or what??

Q: How do you reduce the G-Force sensitivity as it appears as if the Geko 130 is locked? Have not tried as yet due to battery running out.

A: Please press the Menu button on the left corner, navigate through your settings until you find G-sensor, click ok and adjust the sensitivity level.
