Q: bought the belt O.E.754-0280A and it said it was 53.5 inches long, it was too short so measured it and it was only 51 inches why?

A: Belts can be very difficult to measure without a belt measuring machine as the length is generally measured through the centre of the belt, rather than around the inside or outside surfaces. Product 60-7290 is a MTD OEM belt and should be 53.2 inches in length. The belt should have “MTD 754-0280A” stamped on the outer surface. This will verify that it is the correct belt.
