Self destructed after two weeks

a year ago

Bought the heater a month ago, got it installed and running two weeks ago. Today the fan motor bearing went out and the unit sounds like it will fly apart. Again, it ran for two weeks. Now I have no heat in the middle of a cold snap. Can’t get ahold of Mr heater. Heats well, was quiet up until now, but a new fan motor is $150 USD. Hopefully warranty will cover it. Save money and headache and buy a higher quality unit.

No, I do not recommend this product.

BUYER BEWARE!! Unit was Severely Damaged in Shipping, Canadian Tire Refused to Do Anything About it.

Had to order and prepay for unit so it could arrive to my store and they send it back after 5 days. Unit was severely damaged when brought home, I had to install it anyway because winter was already here. Called corporate for a rebate because I don't know if it will last with the amount of damage it had. They refused. Canadian tire doesn't care about their customers. Buy from somewhere else!!

Q: What parts are needed to put the exhust through the ceiling/attic.

A: You need the vertical vent kit. Mr Heater doesn’t make the kit anymore. HeatStar makes them now. The kits may not have enough vent pipe for some applications and separate pipe lengths are difficult to find. Also though they look the same, Mr Heater vent kits don’t fit HeatStar kits. It seams their manufacturing process is off by slight diameter so they don’t connect with a good seal.
