Q: Does this contain pertroleum products. would it safe to get pitch off a dogs paws?

A: The container says poisonous if swallowed. I am not going to check spelling on my copying from the container. Use at your own risk. It states it contains: Water, oleic acid, proplene glycol, alcohol C6-C12 ethoxylated propoxylated, alcohol C10-C16 ethoxylated propoxylated, monoethanolamine, di-terpine, aluminum and magnesium silicate, diazolidinyl urea & iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, glycerine, lanolin, jojoba (buxus chinensis oil fragrance. I would check all those on pubchem or something to have a better idea. https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ I am no expert. The alcohol in it will certainly soften pitch. So would goods old rubbing alcohol. Both are poisonous if swallowed. What the difference is between my hands and a dogs paws, I do not know but it works on my own hands which have been referred to as paws occasionally. I never lick my paws. Emergency note: First Aid Treatment: Contains C-11-Oxoalcohol, Ethoxylated Call poison control or doctor immediately. Do not induce vomiting. Use at YOUR OWN RISK I have no recommendations for or against it's use. I suspect there is a certain amount of harm with every single thing on this earth that humans have created that do not occur naturally in nature. It takes the body many hundreds of years if not thousands or millions to adapt to changes. It is the best thing for putting on a tire bead during install that I have found in the last 50 years. Running out of CTC Hand Cleaner is not allowed around here...

Q: Is this the same as 38-1002 which was a big container that had a pump? Are they still available?

Q: Has the forumlation for this product changed? The product seems much less effective at removing grease and oil. The product consistency and color have also changed. I used to use it to pre-treat clothing to remove grease and oil prior to washing, but it no longer works.

A: The formulation did change slightly about a year ago. This was done proactively to comply with changing VOC regulations. The product is much “greener” than the previous formula, but our testing shows that the effectiveness on grease and grime has actually improved. We have heard many comments from long standing customers about the product consistency and colour change, however we are getting excellent reviews on the product effectiveness.
