Short battery life

I bought this a while ago while on sale. Battery life is very short. Charge time is long. Can be awkward to use on certain vehicles but once in place it's quite handy. I took it apart to see if upgrading the battery was an option. It has a single 18650 battery which is undersized for this many LEDs. I upgraded to 3 matched Samsung 18650s in parallel. Time will tell if battery life is better.

Cannot run while plugged in

Good overall and decent price if bought on sale BUT... it does not run light while being plugged in which is strange because the smaller handle held version of the motomaster work light does. You instead have to wait till it’s fully charged then unplug and turn on. Quite annoying and hopefully they will update this to be able to do that. It’s a basic but very important function

Cannot turn light ON while recharging

While working under the hood. Job stops the moment the light turns OFF, have to wait 6 hours, plus to recharge because you cannot turn light ON while it's recharging. Nice light, if your job is shorter than 2 hours. Fix this flaw and it would be a 5 star review.

Ends unscrew with stretch cord

Great upgrade from simpler smaller worklights Ends unscrew and stretch cord so it can hang from hood. I bought 2 Someone screwed up by not advertising the end cap features

Q: Ifind they run out of charge quickly can I use regular batteries in this unit?

A: This light comes with the rechargeable 3.7V 2000mAh lithium battery. If customer want to change the battery, he needs use 18650 3.7V lithium batteries, such as 3.7V 2000mAh, 2200mAh or 2600mAh.
