Quick Start super for Cold Starting Large and Small Diesel and Gas Engines

I have bought this starter fluid for winter starting my 200 hp diesel case loader and for cold starting my three tonne diesel Sterling truck. I've also used it for help spring first time start up of gasoline riding mowers and the like. This quick start seems to me far easier on engines that the ether I used to use which created alot more engine knock.

Q: Can you spray this into the cylinder chamber when removing the spark plug

2 Answers
  • A: I wouldn't recommend it. This could strip any oil from the cylinder wall and cause scoring. It's best to spray into the carburetor and have it drawn into the cylinder while starting the motor.

Q: My Snow blower won't start, can I spray this directly into the spark plug area and put the spark plug back in and then try to start it?

  • A: It might not be the ideal way to get the fluid in there, but it can be done.  Sometimes the spark plug is more accessible than the carburetor path.  I’ve managed to start the snowblower and generator via the spark plug way.  This product has no spray nozzle tube, so spray it into a plastic cap and then pour carefully into the spark plug hole.  If you can be ready to screw in the plug and tighten it within 30 seconds or so the ether is still available to ignite.

Q: How to use this? No instructions on packaging! It was recommended to me in the store by a helpful member of staff to help start my 3hp lawn mower after the winter break. However, now at home I notice that there are no instructions on the packaging.

Q: It says that it is an upper cylinder lubricant as well. Is the lubrication factor in this spray enough for safe use on two strokes? I don't want to ruin my cylinder or piston.

  • A: Waterweld or Steelstik epoxy putty stick would be suitable, and both are good choices.
