    Working Strong 3 Years Later!

I bought this battery three years ago and it still turns over my boat motor no problem. I can use it for my 55lb thrust trolling motor all day without depleting it.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

My old RV battery died just 2 days into a trip, Evening staff checked to confirm that he had what I needed. Then he escorted us to our truck and helped me LIFT and secure the new heavy battery.

Q: What's the best charger for this battery. I want it to last a long time.

    • A: I use the 6 amp motormaster simple charger. 4.5 amp was enough.

Q: Combined with an inverter I want to use this as battery backup for a 1/3 HP Zoeller 5,5amp 115 volt sump pump, how do I figure the number of hours operation I might get? I have no idea what the startup draw might be...

    2 Answers
    • A: No expert but... sump pump draws 660W. 90ah battery is 1080 Wh. So the pump could run for 1.6hrs. Combine with the inefficiency of the inverter and that a full drain will damage the battery probably 1hr of run time. Also need to check how much draw the inverter takes on standby as that will also drain the battery fairly quickly.

Q: Dear support, I am planning to run a 12V hydraulic pump. My research about deep cycle batteries says that its recommended to recharge the battery until 20-50 % of its capacity. I want to follow it. What voltage is at 20% and 50% battery capacity ?

    2 Answers
    • A: Additionally, note that the voltages referenced are OCV (Open Circuit Voltage). That means measured when the battery is at rest. While actually operating the 12V hydraulic pump (i.e. under heavy load), battery voltage will be lower. Your goal is to ensure the battery isn't below 50% (about 12.2V) at, for example, the end of the day, when you have the opportunity to recharge it. If you find you are surpassing 50% between recharge opportunities, you'll need to add a second battery to double your capacity (or "upsize" your single battery).

Q: Have Motomaster inverter 011-2102-0.  Is this the best battery or is AGM battery better?   I will be shipping them to the Caribbean and worried about any spillage from battery or any precautions with shipping.

    2 Answers
    • A: You will not be able to ship a flooded/wet/unsealed battery. AGM (or Gel) are your only options.

Q: what is the difference between "deep cycle" & "dual purpose" in these batteries? Which would be better to use with solar?

    2 Answers
    • A: Unless using to start a vehicle - you don’t need the cranking amps - if using solar and charging a battery, get a good quality deep cycle  Tip - use a smart charge maintenance not just a trickle charge for the off season

Q: What brand or type of battery charger would I need for this? I plan on using this for a 14ft aluminum boat with a trolley motor.

    • A: I purchased this battery x2 to use on rv. I have an 80 watt solar panel on them all the time. NOT electric rv site. With moderate use only need to run generator to top up every few days. BUT I also use the 24 model of this battery for same as your need (elec motor on small boat) I have 2 of them that i swap out depending which has most charge. They each have a 40 watt panel on them. That gives me a battery every day or 2. If I needed to charge i'd just use my 15 amp charger for a couple days on electric plug-in. I also find the 24 is heavy enough to put in-out of our small boat. Mostly only less than 50' to carry.

Q: re this battery group 27 marine battery. What amperage should the battery be charged at

    2 Answers
    • A: At least 10 amps - but that will take an overnight charge at least (15 hrs) higher amp 20-40 would be better  Also highly recommended a battery charger/maintainer rather than just charger or trickle charger especially for off-season
