absolute junk!! don't waste your money

this charger has been junk since day one in my boat. over the course of 2 years I have put 3 pairs of trolling motor batteries in as I would have one stone dead every few months. kept replacing batteries as one of the 2 would fail a load test Instantly. finally discovered the one bank on this charger is killing them! put it on a brand new battery overnight and was stone dead by morning, so instead of charging, its killing it! and good luck trying to get a new one from Canadian Tire no help at all👎

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Nice marine battery charger

Works great for my boat batteries. Easy install and fully sealed. I made the cables a little longer to reach all my batteries and charger still works no issues.

    Good charger/maintainer for multiple batteries

Works great. I feel confident it will work in a humid boat environment and safely recharge multiple batteries at various intervals, switching from one to the next.

    Questions

    1 - 10 of 10 Questions

Q: do you have to disconnect the 2 trolling batteries that are in series for 24v before charging

    3 Answers
    • A: No you do not need to disconnect your 24V bank. Each charger lead is connected to each individual battery and charges each as a standalone 12V battery.

Q: Would two batteries connected in parallel be treated as one battery or would you treat as two when connecting?

    • A: Treat as 2

Q: the specs say this will charge 24V is this true

    • A: Sorry not sure but if the specs say it will I would trust that specs are right.

Q: Does this charger remember it's settings when powered off? If I set it to STD batteries, and after a day on the water, can I just plug it in, and will it power up in STD mode? Or will it revert to the Default of AGM and overcharge the STD batteries?

    2 Answers
    • A: The charger retains the last selection in memory (for each bank) if/when power is disconnected. So you only need to set it once (or again if you change battery type sometime in the future).

Q: Is this charger 15 amp x 3 or combined between the 3 outputs?

    2 Answers
    • A: It sequentially charges the batteries. So in a sense it is not truly 15amp x3 as it does not charge the three batteries at once. Despite this, I have been happy with the performance of the charger in my boat as it gets the three batteries topped off overnight.

Q: What do you plug the charger into if it's an on-board...does it connect to the boat motor or solar panel ???

    2 Answers
    • A: You need to plug it into a standard 110v outlet. I plug it in after the boat is on the trailer back at the cabin.

Q: I own this charger and my voltmeter is showing 16 volts at times. From what I read online this is to high. Is there something wrong with the charger? I have 2 different voltmeters and they both show 16 volts so it is not a faulty meter.

    1 Answer
    • A: Up to 16V is normal in the Standard battery setting to ensure optimal battery performance.

    1 Answer
    • A: (Traduction par Google Translate....) Oui, vous ne pouvez utiliser que 2 banques et laisser la 3ème banque vide. Le temps de charge sera plus rapide avec seulement 2 batteries au lieu de 3.

Q: Two questions - 1) If I have #010-3199-6 Motomaster Nautilus Group Size 31 Deep Cycle (100 AH) batteries connected, what battery type is that as far as this charger is concerned? I assume they are a STD battery type for this charger?

    1 Answer
    • A: Yes, choose the STD setting for this battery.

Q: Does the charger have temperature compensated maximum voltage ?  Also, if I only have 2 batteries, will the charger just skip the 3rd battery or will it still stay on that 3rd slot for 15 minutes before sequentially moving on to the next battery?

    1 Answer
    • A: This charger does not have temperature compensation. You program each bank for battery type (Standard, AGM, GEL or No battery). If you choose No battery, it will skip that bank altogether. Feel free to peruse the instruction manual available in the Additional Info box.
