Does what it's called for. Boat repair and sealing the transom.

Works well, seems to cure properly if instructions are followed.

Other reviewers had issues with the resin not setting/curing properly, its possible they had expired product but the temperature you let the resin cure at is very important, its NOT a suggestion, if its too cold out it wont cure, heres my experience: I used the whole can and whole tube of hardener, so the ratio was 100% perfect, applied just as outside temp went above 21 C and let cure in the midday heat above 24 C for at least 3 or 4 hours before it started to cool off again. Its now as hard as a ballroom floor, and just as slippery when it rains (be sure you have some sort of traction surface done unless you want to wipe out on this stuff) I just wish it came in a bigger can, but it did begin to set up a few minutes before I was done so maybe this size of can is perfect?

Q: How long does the resin take to cure?

    • A: Using the proper amount of liquid hardener, material will harden in approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours at 24°C (75°F).

Q: Does the resin and hardener EXPIRE ??? Mine sat for 3 years then would not harden. There should be a WARNING !

    1 Answer
    • A: From my experience using this product, I would say the hardener expired. But if resin was exposed to extremes in temperature then it would be subject to failure.

Q: Is this resin a laminating resin? If so do you need to add wax or PVA to the final layer?

    1 Answer
    • A: Motomaster Fiberglass Resin (047-9306) is a marine or fiberglass resin (it is NOT a laminating resin). It is a non-air inhibited or waxed resin and cures with a hard, non-tacky surface. It is excellent for the final coat and can be sanded, painted or gel coated.
