Cheap nozzle

I've had this for a few years now and its been useful but there are a couple drawbacks, 1) Its a little slow on a big tire like a truck tire and 2) the nozzle is really cheap. I have to be really careful that it doesn't come apart and I don't lose pieces. For this reason I would look for another model that has a better nozzle.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

Q: How accurate are the PSI readings on this unit? Has anyone used a second tire pressure gauge to confirm the readings of the inflator before or after using it on a car tire? Is the assumption that this unit is calibrated correctly out of the box?

  • A: I have tested with an Auto Meter Nascar tire pressure gauge after setting the PSI to 35 on this unit and topping up my tires, the Auto Meter gauge was exactly 35 when I tested after inflation. Works perfect!

Q: Can we use it to inflate a SUP (paddle board) ? Thanks.

  • A: I forgot because I always use it at home for my tires....it does have a connection for being on the road--it would plug into a lighter or similar port so could be used at the beach, again if one of attachments fits your board.

Q: If you use the 120V AC operation for use around your home (plugged into an electrical outlet and not the car's 12v source) can you use any kind of extension cord with it or do you need a special kind? Thanks.

  • A: You can use a standard extension cord

Q: Can it be used with trailer rv battery and does it go on sale

1 Answer
  • A: I have no idea if it goes on sale--I'm a user, not a retailer.  It has a cord for a regular electrical connection and a cord for a cigarette-lighter-type connection

Q: How much power does this require? (wattage, amp, etc)

  • A: We've plugged it into the vehicle auxiliary power outlet, which I think is 12 volts/120 watts.

Q: What is the maximum pressure this unit can fill a tire to.

1 Answer
  • A: This MotoMaster Road & Home Inflator has a maximum working pressure of 120 PSI and is best-suited for passenger car tires and specialty applications such as 700c bicycle tires. If you are inflating high-pressure + high-volume tires from flat, such as light truck LT-rated tires, we would prefer to recommend a more suitable inflator such as an air tool compressor or the MotoMaster Eliminator Heavy-Duty Inflator, available from your local Canadian Tire as Product #009-5032.

Q: Can we use this pump to inflate coleman air mattress?

1 Answer
  • A: To inflate a medium to large size air mattresses we would recommend the MotoMaster Digital Hi-Flow Inflator (009-5205) - a dual-purpose inflator with the ability to inflate both high pressure items (car tires, sports equipment, etc.) or high volume items requiring large air intake (air mattress, etc.)

Q: How does the digital preset work? This is my second unit and it does not seem to work, if I turn it on and I see that my tire is 3 lb under-inflated I set the digital pre-set to plus 3 pounds and hit the start button and nothing happens.

1 Answer
  • A: The pre-set tire pressure settings are for Total PSI measurements, not incremental. For example, if your tire pressure is at 32PSI and you require 35PSI, set the pre-set setting to 35PSI as your total target. If you set the pre-set setting to 3PSI, the pump will not turn on because the tire is already above 3PSI.
