bought 2 of these for mobility scooter as replacements for batteries that did not charge. These work fine.

Product good, shopping experience not so much

There is no problem with the battery itself. The store experience was frustrating. To obtain the battery credit (core charge credit) it was necessary to pick up the battery at the secure, non-manned boxes, take it to the automotive department (which cannot be accessed directly, must go through main entrance and to far end of store), pick up a voucher from the automotive department, take it back to the check out area, which is a maze through many shelves of junk food. The result was four trips through the main entrance to the automotive department, two of which involved carrying a somewhat bulky battery. There is no direct entrance to the automotive department in this store and the long trip to the tills from anywhere in the store is not a pleasant journey. The store has good merchandise and good prices, the main part of the store is a good experience but the "junk food and junk merchandise" section one must travel before reaching the tills is unpleasant, time consuming and results in fewer shopping trips to this store.

Very happy with this product

Bought these batteries for electric wheelchair. They are smaller in size but our wheelchair had straps to keep the batteries in place. Only had them for a few weeks but they are serving our needs. We liked that there is a 2 year warranty and the batteries came with little pkgs of bolts to adapt to the connections we had on the chair. Even though the cost for 2 batteries was high, the Price was indisputably better than going to the distributor. Very happy with our purchase.

Q: deep cycle, solar system? im curious to know if these are considered deep cycle batteries and would they be appropriate for a small pv (solar) system? i would only need to draw a maximum of 10ah a day really. they would be used just to power a few 8watt bulbs in a cottage.

A: Yes, this IS a deep cycle battery. It is rated at 35Ah so if you take out 10 amps, you're taking it down about 30% each time which isn't too stressful (assuming you're fully recharging it every time).

A: Potentially. The scooter manufacturer/dealer will have installed different batteries depending on the model and options/accessories installed. Best to check the specifications noted on the original batteries. The battery size will be either Group U1 (approx. 7" long) or Group 22NF (approx. 9" long). Once you've determined the correct size, you'll need to confirm if the original batteries are AGM type or Gel type. (Your battery charger is specifically designed to work on AGM or Gel batteries. Using the charger on the wrong type of battery will dramatically shorten battery life.) Group U1 - AGM 010-2051 or Gel 010-1102 Group 22NF - AGM 010-2045 or Gel 010-1100 Both scooter batteries must be replaced at the same time.

A: We are not familiar with a mobility scooter brand called Shoprite. Perhaps you meant Shoprider? Even so, different models will require different batteries so we would need more details about your scooter (e.g. make/model). Easiest just to check the specs (voltage and amphour capacity), physical dimensions and type (AGM or gel) of the battery currently in your scooter and find one that matches. It is entirely possible that your scooter uses a "U1" size battery like this one, but normally it would be a gel type (i.e. 010-1102). That said, depending on your specific model, it could also be a smaller or larger battery (or even two batteries). Once you confirm your details, feel free to share them if you would like our help confirming the proper replacement battery.

A: This is not a gel battery; it is an AGM battery. It can be used in an electric scooter however a gel battery can be discharged deeper than an AGM battery. If your original battery was gel, please ensure the battery charger is compatible with an AGM battery. (Gel battery chargers typically use a lower charge voltage than what should be used on an AGM battery, leaving an AGM battery consistently under-charged which will eventually lead to shortened overall life.)
