Q: Can anyone comment on fan noise? Is its speed controlled? I plan to install this behind the driver's seat and want an inverter that will have minimal noise at low loads.

A: This inverter is completely silent. As far as I can tell there is no fan and it is cooled by a design called Sine Wave. I use it in our travel trailer to charge phones etc when wilderness . camping.I have charged 3 USB items at once and have also powered a 16 ", 120v household fan. This is a great product.
