Questions

Q: MotoMaster - MotoMaster 12V Digital Gauge Inflator, 6-Min. What happens if the tire's pressure is higher than the pressure that you set for the inflator? Will it bleed pressure from the tire to get it down to the selected pressure?

3 Answers
  • A: No, I don't believe it will. It shuts off when it hits the target pressure. You can carefully depress the needle in the valve of the tire to let air out and then use a pump to bring it up to the pressure you want.

Q: Can this unit be used to inflate a stand up paddle board - requires 15 psi but is a high volume application? I tried another MotoMaster inflator and while it worked it took forever to get to 4 psi.

2 Answers
  • A: A stand-up paddle board typically requires a specialized two-stage inflator that fills high-volume first, and then switches to high-pressure to complete the inflation. Additionally, most SUPs have a specialty valve - in order to use this inflator, you will require an adaptor for use with a Schrader valve. While this inflator will work, it is not likely the most compatible for your use.

A: It is difficult to judge the reason from your description. May you call the after sales phone 1-877-466-8191 for a correct nib and fuse first. You could try again with the correct nib and fuse. Thanks.

Q: I have one of these that has been working great for a few years, but this week the digital display shows 80psi when I put it on my car tire (which is closer to 30). Is there a way to fix this, or is the whole thing ready to go in the bin?

1 Answer
  • Canwell01

A: I am afraid it can not be fixed. As the motor is still good, you could use it to compress and use a separated tie guage to check the PSI.

Q: The compressor won't stay on after I turn it on. I have to constantly press the on button for the compressor to work. Is this a fuse problem or is the entire compressor broken

1 Answer
  • A: Check the fuse and make sure the fuse cap is screwed on tight. Watch to make sure the small nib in the adapter does not fall out. The compressor will show you the exiting tire pressures when you attach the pressure hose. If the tire pressure is close to your preset tire pressure on the compressor the tire will fill very quickly and shut off. I sometimes use a stick pressure gauges to quickly check tires to see if the need filling, Note temperature range for compressor use, if tempeature is below 30 degrees C the compressor may shut off
