Extremely heavy, but it would need to be in order to be fireproof I suppose! Seems to be well made. and fits everything I need it to.

Box is slightly too small!

Since this box was meant to store letter size documents, it is disappointing that it does not allow them to lay flat. Had they designers really thought things through they would have made it large enough to fit a document flat while it is in a standard 9x12 envelop.

actual size is smaller than specs

they actually made the box a little smaller than what they say which i find very disappointing.even though the box says letter size papers lay flat and that the interior depth measurement is 8.50 inches i measured it and it is shorter than 8.5" and so my letter size papers lay curled upwards against one side when placed inside. the plastic carrying handle seems a little cheap, especially since the chest is pretty heavy but time will have to tell if it holds up. the latches make a snug fit when you close them but their hinges are also made of plastic. the lock mechanism fits the key very snug and is not loose at all which i like. overall i am confident that it will keep my documents safe and am glad i am no longer keeping my important documents in a shoe box.

bon coffret de sureté, mais rien d'une valise.

Il y a des modèles plus petit mais je recommande comme valise de sureté cette grandeur. Javais acheté plus petit mais j'ai rapidement échangé puisque il y avait vraiment peu de place. Ne vous fiez pas à la grosseur pour juger du contenue puisque 60% de la valise est fait de protection donc elle contient beaucoup moins que ce que l'on pourrait croire à première vue. Elle est très lourde aussi donc l'aspect outil de transport d'une valise n'est vraiment pas ce dont à quoi elle a été pensé avant-tout

Q: what are the interior dimensions?

A: The interior dimensions are 13" x 8.375" at the height where the box seals (I didn't measure the depth). But because the interior lining is a molded plastic, the walls taper in slightly as you go deeper into the box (mold draft). I would guess that the dimensions are 1/8" less at the bottom surface where your first document lays flat (12.875" x 8.25").
