This was badly designed
a month ago
As a retired plumber all would ever sell was Moen Faucets in building of new homes and as replacements. So, I was looking at a showerhead with a detachable wand I went to Moen. I purchased the 28501 Showerhead. As I installed it and turned on the water to test it, more water came out of the pivot joint at the showerhead than the head itself. I could not get the it stop leaking, even by adding a thicker gasket/o-ring.
I'm returning it today for a refund.
No, I do not recommend this product.

The main reason we bought this Moen fixture is because someone in our household has serious range of motion issues. Our previous fixture's hand wand was stored at the center of the shower head making access painful. The slide mount, allowing a very low storage position, makes wand use easy.

Don’t even think about buying this POC
For starter it isn’t “Chrome”, it’s shiny plastic
But far worse the “Pause” button isn’t a button at all, but a switch that SHOULD pause the handheld unit but merely turns it down a bit. It’s terribly engineered and Moen refuses to let me return it or give me a refund.
I’ve been a big fan of Moen products but no longer.
No, I do not recommend this product.

We apologize for any confusion regarding the product, Chrome is the finish, not the material. The button on the wand is a pause/trickle feature, it will not completely stop the flow of water. This product is just what I needed. The adjustable hand-held shower means no more straining to reach it. It has the power I need, and when I’m not using the hand-held I can push the button and increase the pressure in the larger head. Appreciate them pointing this one to me after purchase of one with limited pressure.
