Q: is this safe to use in an artic cat 2016 prowler 700xt with the wet clutch system

3 Answers
  • A: automobile oils have friction modifiers that will make wet clutch systems slip. I would only use motorcyle formulated oils in a wet clutch system

Q: Can this oil be used for my ride on lawn mower as it states it requires 10w30?

  • Mobil product advisor

A: Hi Lisa, Thanks for reaching out with your question! If your ride on mower has a gasoline engine and only requires a 10W-30 gasoline engine oil meeting API SP or an older API specification (API SN, API SM, API SL, etc.) then Mobil 1 10W-30 is an approved product. We recommend checking the API requirements and any additional builder approvals from the manual of the ride on mower to confirm product suitability. kind regards, Mobilproductsadvisor

Q: Viscosity Is a viscosity of 20 a little too thin for every day driving? How does this perform during the Summer in the heat - and under harder driving?

3 Answers
  • A: This oil actually offers MORE protection to your engine during the summer months, as its viscosity changes less with temperature change.

Q: Can I use this for a BMW X1 2017

2 Answers
  • A: Always consult your owner's manual to be 100% certain, but it appears that the 2017 BMW X1 with a gasoline engine generally takes 0W20 in colder climates. If it's a diesel engine, then no - you would likely need another oil type, such as 5W30 or 5W40.

  • A: Either synthetic or non synthetic. If you do decide to use synthetic you cannot go back to using regular oil. Please remember this point.

Q: Does it meet the specs and if ever can I use this on 2012 Toyota Highlander 4WD Base Engine: 3.5L DOHC SMPI 24-valve V6

2 Answers
  • A: It should work. You may need to check on the engine oil specification of your vehicle to be sure. 0W-20 is the best choice for good fuel economy and starting in cold weather. If 0W-20 is not available you can use 5W-20 especially in hot climate location. However, it must be replaced with 0W-20 at the next oil change.

Q: 0w30 can I use for diesel and gasoline engine or it's only for Diesel?

2 Answers
  • A: It’s okay to use oil intended for Diesel engines in a gasoline engine. Diesel oils tend to have more detergents which can be beneficial in an older engine. However, it’s not recommended to use oils designed for gasoline engine in a Diesel engine because it doesn’t have adequate detergents or the ability to absorb the carbon and soot that Diesel engines produce.
