Perlite for soilless plant mixes

Bought this to mix in with other additions to a soil mix for a container of spring bulbs. A good addition for increasing drainage. It will float to the top; the trick there is to add some tiny natural coloured stones on the top surface to blend them in.

Good perlite for indoor plants. Lack of proper instructions on the bag though. Had to look up online on how to use the perlite to mix in the basic soil. Worn gloves and mask when mixing as suggested online.

My plants are happy!

I'm new to indoor plants and caring for them. I've been rooting clippings, pups and spiderettes. I have read several articles and watched many YouTube videos to learn the correct ways to be successful. Everyone suggested adding perlite to whatever type of potting soil I am working with. So far I have had complete success. Good drainage. All of my plants are thriving right from the start. No going back!

Q: My bag content does not look like the picture but mostly grounded like flour or sugar ,is it ok ?

A: The consistency of Miracle-Gro Perlite is dry and finely textured. The granules may range in size from that of sand to coarser small beads. You may see slight variations in the consistency of the product from time to time, but this is not an indication of a problem with the product. Q: Is Pro-Mix Vermiculite or Miracle-Gro Perlite safe to use for Venus fly traps?

A: Miracle-Gro Perlite does contain a fertilizer component and is not suitable for nitrogen sensitive, carnivorous plants such as Venus Fly Traps. Carnivorous plants, such as these, are highly sensitive to nitrogen in the soil, and even small amounts may harm them.
