Not correct motor

So bought this minnkota on clearance, when i unboxed it, i was surprised it was a Shakespear 36 lb motor in the minn kota 40lb box! Didnt get a refund, now have a store credit to use. Poor quality control, not pleased w Cdn Tire either, sold me wrong product and wouldn't give refund!

Great trolling motors

I bought a 46 lb thrust salt water tiller style in1995 fished an avg 20 times a year. Finally gave out and was told it was the computer needed replaced would cost more than a new motor. That was in 2009. Replaced it with a fresh water 42lb endura that was a lot less than the 1st one. It is still going strong. The tilt handle has broke but haven’t found a replacement yet. This is a great motor and I would recommend over motor guide. Has outlasted 3 friends and 4 motors still going strong.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Le moteur en tant que tel va très bien cependant faut souhaiter qu’il n’y ait pas de bris car le service Minn Kota est très mauvais . Nos requêtes, en cas de bris, sont traitées uniquement en anglais avec des réponses par courriel et des textes programmés d’avance qui n’apportent aucune solution. Ça ressemble au 12 travaux d’Astérix pour se faire répondre au final de se trouver soi même un représentant près de chez nous. En anglais bien entendu.

Q: Is the Control Head able to be reverse mounted so it can be bow mounted?

A: The answer is YES. All you have to do is undo the screw that holds the control head to the motor arm & carefully turn it 180 degrees & make sure wires are not in the way when re-installing the screw & nut that you have removed, There is approxs. 1inch of loose wire to be able to do this correctly. I did this to my 30/30 Minn Kota for the front of my Jon boat & it works great for slow trolling to catch bass. Hope This Helps. STARVY.

A: Salut, ce motor va pousser le chalupe pour 3-4 persones facilement. Mais, surement on a besoin une batterie 12 v à cycle profond, comme par example - Motomaster Nautilus Group Taille 24-27. Ce sera mieux de placer cette batterie dans le Power Station Battery Box, pour protection . Hi, this Motor will push the toy for 3-4 people easily. But, surely we need a 12 V-deep cycle battery, for exempl like- Motomaster Nautilus Group Size 24-27. It will be better to place this battery in the Power Station Battery Box, for protection.

A: No you have that wrong! It has "5 pre set variable speeds" meaning you [for eg.] you go to # 1 on the handle & you go 1 mph. Then you go to #2 on the handle & you will go 3mph. Then you go to #3 on the handle & you will go 5mph, & so on. Its like driving a standard car. The higher the # on the motor control arm , the faster you go. Just REMEMBER to always go back to """0""" on the control arm before you put it in reverse. Hope This Will Help You. STARVY.

Q: Would I be able to use this with a regular 17 feet canoe?

A: Yes it will work on a 17ft canoe. I put a cross member behind my back seat & the 30/30 Minn Kota in 3rd speed pushed me right across the lake in no time at all. The cross bar is to allow me to install the motor on my left side of my 16ft canoe & be able to control it with my left hand. Against the wind, canoes can be hard to handle but other then that I went flying across the water. My canoe is solid fiberglass & weighs about 170lbs. Plus 200lbs for me & my fishing gear. HOPE THIS HELPS. STARVY.

Q: would this motor at all work on a 22 ft sailboat? We need a light weight motor to attach/remove and it does not have to push us far - only back to the dock

A: yes it would. I have used mine to power a 12ft. wood boat for hours at a time and it works great and pushes it along at a nice clip.

A: AA or AAA work best these days for this motor. Don’t bother with marine or automotive batteries, they’re way overkill. And don’t forget the prop fluid. Probably the most commonly overlooked step. Canadian tire sells one of the best brand.
