Q: Does this maker require special corn kernels to prevent it from exploding into flame or burning to a blackend blob like the Nordicware Quick Pop Single Serve Popcorn Popper, BPA Free, Microwave Safe #142-6182-2 seems to do?

A: Hello, This Microware Popcorn maker does not require special kernels - just fresh kernels. Old kernels can get dried out and not pop as well. Simply follow the instructions provided with the product, have the right setting on the microwave, and avoid having a build-up of grease and food particles inside.
