Pretty decent

Went together very well as instructions were detailed. The adhesive protective tape on all the surfaces wasn’t desirable to peel off.

Good if you like to tinker

I really want to rate this better, as now that I have everything working properly I really like it, but…
First I will say, this is very heavy, and makes a very solid base. But upon opening, 75% of the drawers wouldn’t even open, the fix was to remove the few drawers that did open so I can manually unlatch the stuck drawers. Then I was able to bend the latch catches to a spot to allow the drawers to open. Normally I would have returned this immediately, but it is very heavy and would have been a huge chore to bring back.
Again, happy with the final product, but at this price point, on an item that is supposed to be unbox, add castors and go… was VERY far from that.

Damaged item

Tool box was damaged. Appears to have been dropped, tool box will not lock, drawers don’t roll very smoothly. I noticed the packaging box was damaged and asked the workers while loading if I should expect damage inside and I was told “no it’s fine”

A: They are included with the drawer including the mounting hardware. They are pretty heavy duty, just MAKE SURE you don't tip the container on its side because then all the bolts will fly around inside and you'll have to remove all the drawers to find them.

Q: Can you securely install a vice to the butcher's block? Is it possible to install a vice using bolts through the top part of the chest, i.e. the 3cm butcher's block?

A: I used a similar box at my previous job. I mounted a small 4" vise on the butcher block with no problems. That said I was using it for light duty jobs. I would not use it if you need to put all your weight on a wrench to loosen a nut or pipe fitting.

A: This is the old version bottom panel in case some customers want to install more castors for high load situations. However no customers request them for years and the middle threaded inserts are cancelled now. So you can disregard them.

Q: How is the top matching box secured to bottom box? Can I add 2 castors in the middle for better support?

A: There are 2 brackets that bolt to the back of the lower box and upper box. I can't speak to adding casters over the factory 4. I've been using the lower box in an industrial job for some time now, including putting machine assemblies on the box weighing a few hundred pounds abs the box still rolls fine. Wood top has held up remarkably though I'd go through the screws that holds the top to the box as I've had them fall out. That said, I did not have a good buying experience. I purchased the toolbox new in box. Brought it directly to work and unboxed it. Found significant damage. Appeared to have been crushed is transit to the store. Store would not send me a replacement without paying for the shipping. Had to load it up in my truck again and return. Asked to inspect the next new in box toolbox and in the store found that to be crushed as well. I ended up taking the floor model as that was the only one left. Had a dent in it so they offered a discount for that only, not for the hassle of the previous damaged boxes.
