Plastic vs rubber backing pads for grinder?

I wanted the rubber backing pad but got tbis one by error..it is still good and best suited to removing material with a frinder and 60 grit discs...the center arbour is basically the same as the rubber backing pad has...i chipped this one though being a bit careless and a peice did depart at a high rate of knots...all in all it did the job. 3 stars
