After just one day of use, it felt like I'd been using it for six months. No protection. It scratches and gets damaged a lot. The buttons are too easy to press, which often disrupts the intended load. And if that's the case, it shouldn't cost $200.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I purchased this because my mechanical torque wrench only went down to 7ft-lbs, and I needed 6ft lbs for a job on my Mercedes sprinter engine. It did the job well and is very accurate. I’ve used snap-on digital torque wrenches in the past and the function of this wrench is similar, all the gaskets I installed didn’t leak so I would say it worked well! I will be getting a 1/2” unit in the future. It is nice that the case has a spot to put the batteries when not in use as well, as I take them out when it’s not in use to prevent corrosion.

Solid unit that appears to be well built and is easy to use and understand. However it is difficult to hit the exact torque setting when torquing a bolt. You are are always over or under your dialled in torque settings. Because of this I prefer the click style torque wrench. Because you stop when you feel and hear the click and it doesn’t leave you paranoid about plus or minus torque reading.

Q: I am looking for a electronic torque wrench with a range of foot pounds of approx 100 and a inch pound range of approx 200. Reviewing your Maximum 3/8 drive Torque Electronic wrench does not show the max of inch pounds. Can you provide that info...Bob

A: Bob, 200 inch-pound to foot pounds = 16.66667 foot pounds So ... if you can set the dial to 16.66667ftlp then that would give you the 200inlp I understand it goes as low as 5ftlp so ... it should be able to do your 200inlp requirement. Haven’t tried it yet as I’m waiting for a sale but, by the book, you should be fine

A: Your question is answered about two or three questions up the list of other questions. I always thought that torque to yield meant that the bolt / nut could only be torqued once, not reused. Anyways the question was answered if you scroll up 2 or 3 questions. Hope this helps.

A: Don’t use a torque wrench to “ unsighted” or tighten a bolt/ nut. That is watch ratchets and wrenches are for. You are reducing the accuracy if you use your torque wrench for this purpose. More frequent re-calibration would be necessary.

Q: Accuracy is posted +-2%. Spec says "Accuracy is guaranteed from 20% to 100% full scale" . What is the accuracy below 20% ? Manual says calibrate once / year , what is the baseline for this? If I use it 10-20 times a year do I still need to calibrate?txs

A: The accuracy below 20% full scale, you could find the calibration certificate included with the wrench, there is a * mark on the calibration certificate which tells the accuracy at 5% and 10% One year for re-calibration is recommended, normally, the accuracy will not change if used correctly once or twenty times a year. A re-calibration is only when out of accuracy.

Q: One foot pound is equal to twelve inch pounds....5ftlbs x 12 = 60 inch lbs. Torque to yield is also known as torque angle, which I'm guessing this does not do or it would be mentioned.
