Mastervac VOC608PF 4.0 Peak HP Wet/Dry Shop Vacuum with Hose & Accessories, 22-L

We bought this to drain out our dishwasher that had the pump blocked. We drained it while in position and then drained the discharge hose. We also shut off the water inlet and drained the inlet piping to the pump. This allowed us to inspect the pump with very very little water leakage. Dismantled everything and couldn’t find anything wrong! Took the lid of the vacuum and in the bucket piece we found a cherry stalk, a small piece of potato (we think) and an onion skin piece. That’s why she wouldn’t pump! These had got stuck in the discharge pipe. Put her all back together and voila, dishwasher all works again. This size is just right for around the house, as the old one I gave to my son in law is too unwieldy and large. We will use this to wipe out the remainder of the hot tub (the submersible pump loses suction), instead of me getting wet down in there. Some assembly required, but great product and seems robust. Hint: when you get the crinkly hose bit out of the box, leave it in the living room for a couple of hours, so it becomes warm and flexible! You will thank me.
