A fantastic flux core wirefeed welder, a poor mig welder

If you'd like to buy this for fluxcore welding, it is absolutely fantastic! I bought it for a sale price that put it a bit less than half price. It won't however, ever work out to be a mig welder. They market as that, but no kit comes with it or is available to add gas to it. You'll have to piece together your own frankenwelder out of aftermarket bits and pieces. If you want a mig welder, just buy a mig welder. I'm happy with the quality of the wirefed flux core wire welds from this machine (and I can use a proper mig at work anytime I need anyways). The hand held stick mount welding shade is a joke, plan to buy a quality helmet if you don't already own one. My first project with this welder was to weld some 1" square tubing on my boat dock and it did the job perfectly, and did it all on a 15 amp 120V plug on a low end cheap generator

J'ai utilisé cette soudeuse pour faire des réparations sur un frame de moto et c'est un vrai charme (même sans le gaz). Lorsque la tension de la bobine de fils est bien ajustée, c'est très facile d'utilisation. Branchée sur le 120V avec un breaker 15A, je suis très satisfait!

Bought this on sale and truthfully wasn’t expecting much ,really this is a great little unit,have run a spool of 035 and one of 030 flux core ,I like the 035 better ,don’t use an extension cord for power, cables are short , I also have a Canox gas powered welder I find myself using this quite often for up to 1/4” , don’t ask it to weld long periods ,it will heat up

A: Yes, the polarity can be reversed. During MIG gun connect positive polarity, welding MIG wire; when MIG gun connect negative polarity, it can weld flux core wire.

A: For flux core wire, the Mastercraft Welder can weld 20 gauge to 5/32”, for MIG wire, it can weld 20 gauge to 1/8”.
