Growing up, my dad would always pull out a similar foldaway work table as needed. While this is about 50 years newer it does the same thing. Folds away when not needed and a sturdy base for work when required

A: It should be able to hold the weight but the bracing between the legs has a some play and may not be stable enough for what you require. If you added a solid brace that would definitely help the performance.

Q: Is it possible to purchase just the wood for the top. Ours got left out in the rain by accident and the wood is swollen.

A: use the wet ones to make new ones from 3/4 inch plywood which is much stronger and will withstand a little weather.

Q: I purchased this for my daughter as a gift. All four of the black clamp blocks are too big to fit in the many holes on top. I advised her to sand them down a bit to fit the holes. You should check your product quality control as it’s poor.

A: Take a measurement of the clamp block pegs and get a drill bit to redrill the holes on the board to match the peg sizes in the holes needed to hold the clamp blocks. Voila, problem solved.

Q: re mastercraft folding worktable #057-0029-0, the specs say ADJUSTABLE height 24" to 34" in another place specs say working surface is at 23 or 24". I've put it together, its sturdy, good for my purpose but it is 30" high. I wanted it shorter

A: Assemble the workbench, remove leg caps, cut bottom of legs until you get proper height and then put leg caps back on.

Q: Would you recommend this table if I mount a mastercraft 5" bench vise? I needed a good quality vise so I plan to mount it on this work table. The vise weighs 25lb. Will this table be stable enough and is not flimsy when I do torqueing aplications witht the bench vise?

A: No, your 25lb vice won't work on this table. This table works with a small vice...will not withstand any hammering at all.

Q: Should the rear worktop wobble? I.e., it tilts back and forth slightly because the locknuts securing it to the slidebases are not threaded all the way on. Could be by design.

A: some wobbling may occur when sliding the worktop, resulting in slight gaps. Additionally, misalignment between front and back panels can arise from inconsistencies in handle movement. Minor adjustments are necessary to ensure proper panel alignment.
