Tough jobs get easy with resilient tools like the Mastercraft PVC Pipe Cutter, 1-5/8-in, Max. The durable and ultra-strength construction of the cutting tool is reliable for heavy-duty PVC tubing. This tube cutter extends clean and uniform cuts and is ideal for small pipes and tubes. Built from high-quality aluminum, this PVC cutter is light in weight and minimizes hand fatigue while working. Solid metal construction also features corrosion resistance even with prolonged use. The cutter's steel blade contains a set of small, sharp jaws and is heat-treated to build resilience against bends and cracks. You can replace the steel cutting wheel using a regular screwdriver. The operation allows easy swinging of the two arms, which are pressed against each other to create the desired pressure. Lastly, this tube cutter has a cutting capacity of 1-5/8 inches.

Does not fit around inch and a half abs. The tool fell apart trying to cut pipe. I will return it today.

Q: Is there a trick to opening this? Attempted to cut 1.5 inch abs pipe and could not get it to fit around. Tried another one and same thing.

A: I had no problem cutting 2” ABS pipe! Trick is to undo handle lock then ratchet it open to desired pipe diameter.
