The regular-length prongs have protective caps that come off. The auto-shutoff function turns off the display, not the power so you have to actually switch the dial to off position or of course the battery will die. I bought this auto-ranging model at half price for ease of use after watching a number of online comparison tests and don't expect to ever need another. If you need a tool that is not so highly specialized you'd only need it once, pay a bit more for a good one.

Good for the price I paid! Just wished it had longer contact prongs and alligator clip end adapters. Only 10 amps, wished it could do more for all household checks!

Great Product

I’ve had a few of those throughout the years and they have worked very well for me. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in purchasing one. Just another great product from Mastercraft and Canadian Tire.
