      Poor engeneering

Tried this in a DeWalt and a Milwaukee cordless drill with the same results - poor. The shank (the part that goes into the drill) will not lock into the quick lock mechanism in both drills. We gave up trying and used attachment as is, even if it would fall out from time to time. After about 40 screws, and anyone who has put up drywall will tell you that this is very light use, it became stuck in the Milwaukee drill and it was a galaxy of fun to remove, let me tell you. Wondering why the thing wouldn't lock in when needed and then would get stuck after light use, we noticed that the shank was slightly smaller (shorter in length and smaller in diameter) than any and all of the various bits we were using. Measuring with a Vernier Caliper, we found the the diameter was .003" smaller (we didn't measure length, but it is visibly shorter to the notch) that all the other "standard" size shanks. When using tools, a .003" error in construction and engineering is totally unacceptable - this huge margin of error prevented the thing from properly locking in the drill quick release and eventually allowed the shank to turn slightly in the drill holder, which in turn got things stuck.

No, I do not recommend this product.

      Can't go too slow!

If you other reviewers find you have to drive the screw further, you're either doing it too slowly (has to be at full speed!), or else you have an incorrect length of bit. These tools are fantastic. Only works on wood studs, not metal ones.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      Doesn't screw in far enough

Will be returning this. Figured for $14 it should be the Cadillac, but it just plain doesn't work.

No, I do not recommend this product.

      Not really worth it

It just doesn't quite "finish". Great if you don't mind giving every screw one turn with a screw driver so as to not over-sink the screw. Seems to be pretty solid...if only the screw went in that little bit extra.

No, I do not recommend this product.

      Questions

      1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: why does drywall dimpler not put screw in all the way In trying to use the drywall dimpler the screw just barely goes in then seems like a slip clutch kicks in and screw stops. Is there a depth adjustment? Also the bit always comes out, It is in all the way but comes out with every screw.

      • A: Try it at high speed with your drill. Too slow, and it doesn't have the momentum to stop at just the right depth. Also only works on wood studs.
