Product Details

This Mastercraft Desiccant Dry/Moisture Absorber eliminates moisture from compressed air to optimize spray and blow gun performance. The moisture-absorbing silica beads prevent water condensation that can clog tips and reduce airflow. Simply recharge the desiccant in a 275°F oven to restore the bright blue colour of the beads when they turn pink. By removing humidity from the air line, this tool accessory delivers strong, steady airflow and prevents drips, sputters and other issues caused by water content. You can rely on consistent spray patterns and maximum power from your compressed air arsenal with this heavy-duty moisture absorber.

Not even worth it for temporary use.

Terrible design combined with very poor instructions makes for a very bad product. It is so small that it lacks the capacity to be of any real use. The desiccant beads are incredibly difficult to replace, once you actually get it open, that you end up spilling many of them. Possibly one of my worst tool purchases.

Q: How far away from the hot air leaving the compressor does this unit have to be to have a full effect?

A: There is no distance requirements. If you put the desiccant between the compressor and air tool it should be okay. This desiccant is suitable for air spray gun, not suitable for large pneumatic air tools.

A: To remove the desiccant you must use a wrench to unscrew the hexagonal screw at the top of the silver cylinder that holds the desiccant (see attached picture).

Q: How do you reactivate the dessicant? Does the glass container unscrew from the metal part somehow? I tried to unscrew it by hand but was unable to get it to budge. A small info sheet would be useful. Thanks for any help. Mike

A: On top of the metal body you will see a hexagonal screw. To reactivate the dessicant, the screw must be unscrewed by a wrench.
