Works just fine. I needed to check some Everready lithium AA batteries and this did the trick. Interesting fact. In outdoor cameras the lithiums need to be at full 1.5V or they start to act up. That's what lithium batteries do. Stay at full 1.5 until they don't. Regular alkaline batteries drain on a curve. Lithiums still in the green zone but not full caused the cameras to malfunction. New batteries was all they needed. Anyway, battery tester gave me the info I required.

Useful little gadget that I didn't think I needed

This little gadget is something I truthfully would never pick up in the store but having suffered all my life from not knowing whether or not my batteries are any good still or not, this seems to be one handy tool to have in my tool kit for that! It is super easy to use and lets you know if your batteries hold any power or are ready to be thrown away. No more trying them out one by one in my remote control!

A: There are two contacts on the side of the device that you can line up a 9V battery with.

Q: How do you use it for testing AA and AAA batteries? There is no way to make it so both positive and negative terminals touch the device.

A: Simply place your thumb on the top right corner of the test and pull down. This will elevate the arm of the tester allowing you to test AA and AAA batteries.
