Couldn't get out the gate

I bought this model and returned it three times in the same day. First one had a ton of debris inside. The second was seized and I believe it was a return as the oil was missing and I had to use some I already had on hand. The third had a faulty drain valve and wouldn't hold air as a result of this manufacturing defect. Strong, do not buy!

No, I do not recommend this product.

First one seized. CTC allowed a return. Second one last 2 years with very occasional use and it died. It had lots of oil - just stopped half way through filling a football. Buy another brand

Save yourself the trouble and buy a brand name

I bought one of these about 5 years ago. It was louder than a jet plane taking off, and I couldn't get it to stop the cycle of overfilling, then bleeding off, then overfilling again, over and over. It was always well oiled and bled of air and water after every use. After awhile it would go to kick on and it was like the piston was seized, because it would just sputter and then the breaker would trip. The only way I could get it to go again was to bleed the tank completely. I tried getting it fixed at a local electric motor place, but they couldn't do anything with it, so I chucked in and bought a Makita which has been excellent. If you;re using a compressor inside, its worth buying the Makita just for the quietness alone.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: will this be strong enough to remove lug nut off my car

3 Answers
  • A: This unit has nothing to do with getting the lug nuts off. I purchased a 1/3 hp (3gallon) and a cheap air wrench. No good, returned the air wrench for the professional model air wrench (slightly more expensive) and absolutely no comparrison. If the small compressor is at the max pressure there is no nut the wrench won't take. If it won't come off, use some air, then let it pump to max and no problem. As for the 8 gallon, I just purchased with the hopes that I have more air volume and won't have to wait as often for the compressor to recharge.

Q: How often should the oil be changed? Manual says to change the break-in oil after 8 hours, but how often after the initial oil change should oil be changed?

  • A: Il y en a une juste sous le compresseur, c'est comme une petite roulette dentelée que tu dévisses; et il y a l'autre à côté du "gauge" avec un anneau genre pour des clés, tu n'as qu'à tirer dessus...

Q: Can I get a fitting/attachment for a standard garden hose for this compressor (i.e. to connect the supplied air hose to a garden hose)? Needed to blow out the water lines at the cottage.

2 Answers
  • A: Go to RV section in the store, they have a plastic fitting that screws into the female end of garden hose. The other end has a tire valve on it. Use a washing machine hose if you need female at the other end.

Q: What tank pressure should the compressor cut out at? Is there a way to regulate the tank pressure so the compressor shuts off earlier?

2 Answers
  • A: As long as it isn't in the red, I would not concern myself with it. There is a safety valve so it's not going to explode on you. Mine cuts out just below red line.
