Sturdy tool to drive screws true without wobble

Screw guides let you drive long screws in straight with a drill driver. You insert the square tip in the chuck, you insert a bit, put a screw inside the barrel, line up the screw with the tip, and then start drilling. It takes a bit of practice to do this without fiddling, but once you get the knack you will find this tool invaluable when you are on the top of a ladder or if you can't get your other hand in the right position to hold th screw. You can also hold the barrel (it doesn't turn) while screwing to make sure the screw goes in straight without wobble. CT sells another magnetic screw guide that is pretty good for occasional use, but we bought this as a replacement because it came with compatible bits. The bits are good quality. We've used them for a couple of years and haven't stripped one, even the always-delicate Phillips. The screw guide itself is sturdy and has lasted us through a garage reno and a deck and a dock. We're happy enough with it, although we'd gladly like to get this tool in a version where you can set the depth.

      Yes, I recommend this product.
