Not enough power

Maybe I have a defective unit or something, the wrench will not take off my lug bolts. The bolts are not stuck, but the tool seems to lack the burst of torque needed to initially turn the lug bolts. I highly doubt it's actually putting out 240 ft. lbs of torque. I used a torque wrench to check the bolts after using the tool to tighten them, the torque wrench indicates that the bolts are not even at 100 ft. lbs. I could still easily turn the bolts by pulling up the torque wrench.
Too bad I did not keep the receipt. I will try the Maximum version next and make sure I keep the receipt this time.

Not Powerful enough

I bought this on sale and it will not remove the bolts on my truck. I removed them and re-torqued them at the manufacturer settings which is 100ft lbs and tried again. Still not doing anything. I went out and bought a 12 gauge extension cord to provide full power and still nothing. The only use I have for this model is just to quickly remove the nuts once I use my breaker bar to loosen them. I will now go and try the maximum model which is on sale this week, it has about 100ft lbs more.

will do the job but....

will take lug nuts off for sure, but for other jobs it could be to large and heavy, trying to get into small spaces and/or using one hand operation could be a challenge, im still thinking of getting an air powered impact gun w/an air comp for other jobs in and around the car.
noticed some oil leaking, don't know if it was from tool, get it it on sale

Rotating Tires Would Never Be Easier

Bought this Mastercraft 1/2 in 7.5A Impact Wrench for $60 with a bonus flip-type impact sockets for 4 common lug nut sizes. Couldn't be happier with the purchase. While my 20-volt lithium Black and Decker impact driver failed to take even a single lug nut off my SUV, this impact wrench is powerful enough to do the job with so much ease, just like cutting butter. Just make sure you use impact sockets (I recommend sockets made of Chrome Molybdenum Steel) for this tool, anything less than that will be shattered eventually I'm sure. Never ever hesitate to buy this tool esp when it's on sale. A must-have for DIYs and car enthusiasts. This will be one of the most useful tools in your garage. I have no doubt about recommending this product and giving it an excellent rating.

I can get my wheel nuts off with a bit of trying, so it has decent power.
However, it's large so it is limited for the uses it can access.
Also, it is difficult to lightly tighten or lightly loosen anything. Either a bolt/nut is on and tight or completely off due to the speed and inertia of the electric motor.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Car manual says maximum torque of 100 for my lug nuts. Would this be too much of a torque on the bolts that it could potentially strip/snap the bolts?

A: I answered a simlar question, this tool should be used for removal not really to put bolts on. My advice is this, put the nut on the wheel, blip the trigger until you can visually see that the botl is almost tight (before the gun starts to hammer) then tighten the rest of the way by hand. So yes this has too much tourqe to apply all the way, in my opinion

Q: Can't take the lug nut off ?? Lots of people using this to take lug nut off, but mine doesn't have that much torque to take 80lb-ft nut off my wheels. Any people with the same problem with mine??

A: You are not wrong, this unit is underpowered. I tried taking off my lug nuts which were at 100ft lbs and they didn't budge.

Q: Why does this impact wrench stop spinning for a few seconds, when trying to remove lug nuts I recently bought this impact wrench, and used it to remove my lug nuts on car. It eventually removed the lug nuts, but the head would intermittenly stop spinning for a few seconds and then start again. Is this normal, and if so why? Thx.

A: That does not seem like normal behavior to me. Mine will run for as long as I'm pushing the trigger.

Q: Has anyone successfully removed the Crankshaft pulley bolt with this impact wrench? I had to remove the crankshaft pulley bolt at home. Just wondering if anyone has remove the crankshaft pulley bolt with this. On paper, it should have sufficient torque for the job. Anyone ever tried? Thanx.
