A: Its also not compatible with the Canadian Tire Maximum X-treme Lithium-ion 20V batteries despite the 20V MAX labelling as per Canadian Tire technical support. Unfortunate, as I have the Maximum X-treme tools.

Q: Does this device contain a built in battery? How many Ahr at 20V? Does it charge on a regular MasterCraft battery charger? If no battery do I just use one of my Mastercraft tool batteries? What is the maximum charging current each Port can put out ?

A: No battery is provided. You need to use a Mastercraft rechargeable Li-ion battery from a Mastercraft cordless tool or buy one separately. These batteries come in various sizes like 1.5Ahr, 2Ahr, 4Ahr and I hear even 5 but I have not seen one in any store yet. According to the user manual the maximum current output of the device is 1.5A at 5 volts DC with both USB ports going. That means the 1.5 Amp current ends up being split between the two USB ports. Further the manual states that "For one port used or two ports used together, the maximum current draw is always 1.5A". (1500 mA). Though in my experience I have yet to see this device charge via a single port at a rate faster than about 750 mA. Either it can't or my devices wont. I really cant tell yet. Another caveat is the notice on Page 15 of the instruction manual. "If the device draws more than the rated output of the ports, the USB charging adapter will shut off to protect the battery pack". Another notice says "When the USB charging adaptor has been in use for approx 3 hours, the USB charging adaptor will automatically turn off." So if you need to charge longer you will need to turn it back on. Hope that helps
