Bought this grinder to do a simple job at a site where I had no power to use a corded grinder. The battery didn't last 5 minutes on a full charge and the grinder stops with very little strain on it. Then you have to remove a reinstall the battery to get working again. Battery takes a couple hours to charge unless you have 10 or more batteries on stand by don't bother buying waste of time and money.

Bought to use in a project i was doing 4 years ago. Never ended up touching it. Stayed stored away in a cabinet. Found a use for it last night and i got about 5 minutes out of it before it crapped out. Totally dead. Now I'm spending time on Youtube and in forums trying to see if it's a simple fix. Unbelievable.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Had to return it

Bought it on sale , I've got a few of the 20v batteries so it seemed like the perfect tool. This grinder would be a great if it weren't for the fact that it's slow, woefully underpowered (compared to a corded grinder) and drains 1.3ah batteries in a few minutes as others have mentioned here. If you put any pressure on the tool (to make it cut faster) it abruptly stops and it will only restart by pulling the battery - reinserting it - clicking the power button off and then back on, which becomes annoying fast. What a shame too because the grinder runs so quiet, I would have loved to keep it, but as I was repairing my car's exhaust I drained 4 of my 20v batteries and had to dig out my dying old corded angle grinder to finish the job. Returned it the next day. Thank you Canadian Tire for being so willing to satisfy their customers.
p.s. If you make a better version of your Cordless angle grinder I'd be happy to test it for you. Send it my way ;)

20V Max angle grinder

Purchased 1 yesterday to do some cutting in a C-Can wall. Bought a charger with a 1.3 amp battery and a 3 amp battery. Put a full charge on each and went to cut the holes and after 2 minutes the 3 amp battery was dead. Grabbed the 1.3 amp battery and after 1/2 a minute it also died. Called the 1 800 # and they recommended to go exchange the grinder so I went to town and did that. While gone put batteries on charge and new grinder did the same as other when I used it. Don't know what is going on but the batteries sure drain fast. Anyone have any recommendations???

A: No the MAXIMUM batteries aren’t compatible with the Mastercraft Angle Grinder. Please use it with the Mastercraft batteries (SKU#054-3211 1.5AH two pack, SKU#054-7553 2.0AH Battery, SKU#054-7557 4.0AH Battery)
