Solid padlock stands the test of time!

Just bought my second one for a different use. First one has been used extensively for a gated/fenced entry to a gated community tennis court. It has been in operation for over 4 years with very regular summer use and it's still performing as expected. Obviously has stood the test of time and weather since it is left out all year. Absolutely useful resettable combination since we change it yearly for the above memberships. Highly recommended. Even better when on sale!

Q: How do I reset my combination to my master lock if I for got the one it had

A: To change the combination, the lock must be open with the dials set to the current combination. Unfortunately, there is no master or reset codes available on these locks for security reasons. Depending on the lock, you may try using a combination of higher or lower digits (from what it was set to). For example, if you set your combination to 6-1-7-2, try using 7-2-8-3 or 5-0-6-1.

A: By design the octagonal boron carbide shackle is harder to cut that traditional shackles. All padlocks are used as a deterrent to theft.

Q: Does the code have to be set to re-lock it? I want to be able to unlock for others and have them lock up after, but I don't want them to know the code. I need a lock that I can change the numbers on once unlocked, and code does not have to be set to lock it.

A: Morning John, YES, the code needs to be set/displayed inorder to re-lock from being in the open position. Once the dial(s) are moved it begins to engage the lock parts inside and changes the path of entry for the hasp.. Unfortunately, this would likely be the case for not only Master Lock word/numeric combination padlocks but for many others. Also, this lock is re-settable; meaning that if individuals are familiar with its functions they would be able to re-set the code. SUGGESTION • A keyed lock would be best to fulfill this capability.
