it was inexpensive and works great. I especially like that it has a solid bottom and that the element is not exposed; it will make it much easier to clean. it does however boil for a while before it shuts off, but it does shut off as described. It's a great kettle and at clarence price was a great deal!

A: This kettle doesn't rattle when it boils, as some glass kettles do, if that's what you mean. It's plastic, so all I hear is the sound of the boiling water. Before buying this one,, I had a light-up glass kettle that shook when it boiled. I prefer this one . . . Cheaper, lighter and quieter

Q: Does the whole exterior of the MASTER Chef Cordless Kettle with Illumination, Black, 1.7-L, stay cool to the couch? Some kettles have cool handles but otherwise the exterior is burning hot...

A: This kettle doesn’t have a cool touch feature. It’s a single wall plastic kettle. It will be burning hot after boiling water. Those so called ‘cool touch’ kettles in the market are double wall kettles.
