RUSTING - NOT STAINLESS STEEL

Purchased December 2025 and upon first use the inside base which is suppose to be stainless steel gets rust spots and calicification after 1 boil. This is not suppose to happen with Stainless Steel. What i have noticed is that other Master Chef products (pots and pans) also do this. I have to scrub the inside of the kettle with an SOS pad to get it off and keep the pot looking new....But even though i did the surface has rust spots developing. Tryed to soak in CLR overnight and still did not remove the spots. SO CANADIAN TIRE WHAT GIVES HERE ?.......THAT IS THE BASE METAL MADE OF as it surely is not 403 Stainless Steel
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Does anyone have a problem with how long the kettle continues to boil after reaching full boil before the auto-shutoff feature activates? Mine used to shut off within seconds of reaching full boil, but now it will boil for up to 2 minutes after.

A: It's a problem with the lid design. The latch doesn't keep the lid closed tightly enough when the steam pressure in the kettle exerts upward pressure on the lid. You can test it by pressing down on the lid when the water has reached a full boil and the kettle will shut off right away. The only solution I've found is to jam a toothpick or something of similar thickness behind the lid where it meets the handle to keep the lid from being raised by the steam pressure. The kettle shuts off normally, then.

Q: What is the plastic screen-like thing that is attached to the lid and covers the pour spout?

A: Filter mesh??? If it is removed the kettle will not stop boiling. Seems more like a steam restriction to me. Hey! Filter for the steam. ???

A: Please try pushing the plastic lever beneath the handle to down position. Also make sure you have water at the specified levels. If it still doesn't work, you may need to check with store

A: Can't be stainless steel as mine rusted and i have to clean it with SOS pad after every use to keep it clean and remove the rust and water spots from the boil. I just bought it and it happens after the very first use. Not sure if i got a dud but its definitely not 304-Stainless Steel. This also happened with a Master Chef pot i use only to cook pasta.......Have to clean it and hand dry it to keep it from rusting.

A: Hi, the bottom steel plate inside the glass housing is SUS304 , it should not have rusting and pitting, but may have scale. The kettle should be periodically descaled as the mineral deposits in tap water may form scale on the bottom of the kettle and cause it to operate less efficiently. Use a commercially-available descaler and follow the instructions on the package, or follow the instructions below using whitevinegar: 1. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar, then add enough water to cover the bottom of thekettle completely. 2. Discard the mixture in the kettle, then fill the kettle with clean water to the maximum position.Boil and then discard the water. Repeat several times until the odour of vinegar has been flushedaway. Any stains remaining inside the spout can be removed by rubbing with a damp cloth.

Q: Why does my kettle always have condensation above the water line? Never had this issue with any other glass kettle.

A: The reason appears to be that our kettles lid does a great job of keeping the heat in the kettle as it cools giving us a bit of condensation as the water vapour condesates and turns back to liquid form after cooling down.
