Terrible product! Canadian tire should pull this from their shelves. I build things for a living, very well I might add, and this is NOT worth the money. Would not stand the test of time. Cam locks don't lock! And the thin board to attach to the back is expected to hold this stand together. This is going back assembled tomorrow morning!
Save your money, don't waste your time, like I did.

Good Deal

I find this fireplace to be a good buy. Assembly (which i did on my own ) was fast and easy , just over an hour and half. It is very solid and holds all my entertainment boxes.
Yes the shelves are narrow but i needed the smaller width of the whole unit.
The flame height is great with many levels to choose from on the remote.
Heat is good and i have no problems with noise from the fan.
I would highly recommend this fireplace.

Not worth it

I was lucky to buy this on special and i got the demo so i paid $225 tax in. i find even at that price i paid too much. Everything about it is cheap. the fan for the fireplace is noisy, the construction is weak and it starts to sag under its own wait. Save your money and get something better.

Luciano Fireplace...

I bought this fireplace a few months ago. While I love the look, the cupboards and the shelf, I am not liking the look of the actual fireplace (logs and flames). I think the fireplace looks too plastic and fake... and the flames could be much higher. In saying this, like I said in the first sentence, I love the look of the cabinet...and I do find myself staring into the flames.

The fireplace itself features sturdy construction and a very nice look, though some of the connecting pieces are a different colour than the body of the cabinet and are very visible.
The fireplace seems to produce an ample amount of heat, though it can seem a bit loud.
Overall, we're happy with the purchase... the doors of the unit were already attached so we did not run into the problem with screws that previous reviewers had.
The remote control, on the other hand, is ridiculous. Instead of having a spring on the negative battery pole and a flat piece on the positive pole, the remote has a spring at each end of the inserted battery. This makes it nearly impossible to actually insert a battery and keep it from popping out.
I emailed Sylvania support for some thoughts on who would design and sell something like this, and they have remained silent.
So if you don't mind getting up to adjust the settings (not really a big deal), this is probably a good purchase. Cheers!

A: I have a smaller fireplace..1250 wattage. It used .12 cents in one hour..I tested it from previous night's hydro usage without the fireplace during the same hour time. So I imagine a 1500 watt would only use a bit more.

A: I ran a dedicated plug for mine. It pulls 12 amps at 1500 watts. therefore if there is anything else on the circuit it will blow the breaker

Q: Is this fireplace easy to uninstall/relocate? Living in an apartment, we want to know if when the time comes to move out or we want to move it to another room, is it stuck in the place we choose to originally put it?
